All the new rules for renewing driver’s licenses, while well intentioned, will not deter criminals, spies or terrorists, as anyone knows who has ever read a newspaper or watched the news (“Indiana plans to overhaul how it handles driver’s licenses,” July 9).

They always manage to get the documents they need. All they need is money.

The only ones inconvenienced will be honest citizens again.

Just as with gun control laws, which make it difficult for honest citizens, criminals and terrorists seem to have an unlimited supply of guns and explosives.
