Cordless electric lawn mowers

I was skeptical at first when I was looking to replace my reel mower with an electric cordless lawn mower. The previous mower to that was a wonderful Toro, gas belching, mulching machine that was self propelled as well.

After price comparing with the Neuton electric mower and the Black & Decker cordless, I went with the Black & Decker. The end result is a great mower with plenty of charge to mow 2-3 yards in my neighborhood. The recharge time is pretty decent as well. I can store it sideways during the winter months and the only real maintenance is sharpening the mulching blade. It’s a little more pricier than a gas mower, but I get to mow on the precious Kno-Zone warning days.

Anyone out there have a Neuton or Black & Decker cordless electric – pipe in.

Any guess on how much juice it takes to charge your mower (for the purpose of gas to electric cost comparison)? How big is your yard? Do you think it would hold the charge for approixmately .6-.7 acres?

I’ve thought about getting a reel mower, but not sure I’m energetic enough to lug it around the yard… any comparisons (descriptions) on how hard they are to push mowing grass?
