Harrison College announced Tuesday that enrollment figures released last week were wrong, and a leader issued an apology.

About 5,000 students — 590 at the Indianapolis facilities — began the fall quarter Monday at Harrison, which changed its name from Indiana Business College in April. Enrollment from June 2008 to June 2009 rose 14 percent overall and 24 percent at three Indianapolis locations, growth that is less than previously announced.

“As a college that prides itself on being transparent and ethical, we want to correct the misinformation we inadvertently distributed,” Marc Konesco, vice president of enrollment and marketing, said in a statement. “We regret and apologize for the mistake.”
