Cocaine Wolves, Bulletwolf & Llange at The Mel 12/14/2007
Those of you on the dot com here who have not been living with the proverbial "finger on the pulse" may not know about two major trends in rock music lately... one being that in order to have a totally righteous band you must first put the word "wolf" somewhere in your totally righteous band name... two being that in order to be totally righteous you must make music that will strip the 74-year-old leaded paint layers off the walls of your apartment. Righteous.
And we're not just talking about making heavy music for the sake of making heavy music, it's more like a backlash against all the faux-heavy yarl-riffic X103-style metal-yet-easily-digestible obviousness that many of our fine friends believe is what passes for rock and/or roll music. As they see it, Bulletwolf's music sounds like a 'fat viking making a beer run on a drunken horse bred of wiseblood and electric dynamite.'
Now that is what we're talkin' 'bout.
If you need proof, or already are swinging on the wolf-rock tip, you need to hustle your butt down to The Melody Inn on December 14th for a rock show that will have you begging for mercy at the altar of fuzzy tube amplifiers.
