Evansville — Environmental crews have analyzed the contents of 479 containers found at the site of a former electroplating company where a $1 million cleanup is under way.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency coordinator Kevin Turner said that while those containers at the former Miller Electroplating factory in Evansville held cyanides, chromic and sulfuric acids and other substances, nothing unexpected was found.

The Evansville Courier&Press reports that the EPA began working in January to remove waste from the plating factory, which closed in December 2007. The project is expected to take until July.
