Here are some ways to find and learn about clinical trials.

Search clinical trials conducted globally at www .clinicaltrials.gov, a service of the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Search by disease/condition and home state.

Ask your doctor or medical specialist. They may be involved in clinical trials for your illness/condition or know of other doctors doing research, which can benefit you.

Visit Web sites of area hospitals or other national medical facilities. Look for clinical trial registry, and search for disease/condition, location. Some local ones are: www.stvincent.org; www.indianactsi.org/patients/cli... (IU School of Medicine, IU Simon Cancer Center); www.clarian.org (Clarian Health); http://clinical trials.stfrancishospitals.org (St. Francis Hospital&Health Centers).

Seek general information from the Center for Information&Study on Clinical Research Participation at www.ciscrp.org. The Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization focuses on educating the public about clinical research participation.

Look for Eli Lilly and Co.’s clinical trials results at www.elililly.com/research/clinical; find recent Phase I ongoing trials at www. lillytrials.com, and find other Lilly trials at www.clinicaltrials.gov. Call Lilly Clinical Trials Support Center, (877) 285-4559.

Search www.BreastCancerTrials.org, the nation’s only clinical trial matching service exclusively for breast cancer; lists information for more than 160 ongoing trials. Enter health history for continual matching with newly listed trials.

Visit Web site of Axiom Accelerated Patient Recruitment at www.recruit patients.com, or call (888) 859-4656 to volunteer for participation in research studies. Free service offers text-messaging and other ways to learn about ongoing trials with pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations.
