A 28-year-old Indianapolis bicyclist was injured critically Saturday in a collision with a vehicle whose driver left the scene, police said.

Paul Nihiser, a Near-Northside resident, was found lying in the 600 block of North Delaware Street shortly after 3 a.m., near the bike he had been riding.

Police said witnesses told investigators Nihiser was riding north on Delaware when he was struck by a dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu, which then sped away. Nihiser was taken to Methodist Hospital with massive head injuries and remained in critical condition late Saturday, police said.

Anybody with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (262-8477).
