OK, so Hollywood (dunno who) is making a live-action He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, but here's a cool animated trailer from another development team (dunno who for this, either).

Click here to watch the trailer

I'm guessing this animated dealie isn't going to be finished, but Battle Cat looks pretty sharp in profile. Think of it as a teaser for future He-Man stuff.

Why in the name of all that's holy, would anyone make a He-Man movie? That's just a terrible idea .... errr, wait, I just remembered that I read comic books and collect tons of Godzilla crap.

I love He-Man. Although I have the powers of GraySkull.

I used to love He-Man as a kid, but I saw the cartoon not to long ago and it was crap! Shoddy animation, and the homerotic innuendo! ahh the 80's!

That means it's time for ThunderCats the movie! What about Voltron? Anybody remember Mask? oh man was that awesome! "Masked crusaders working overtime, fighting crime, fighting crime!"

They made a live-action He-Man movie twenty years ago. Who knew it was so successful, they'd give it another go?

Like DigitalEvolution, I'm waiting for a live-action Thundercats movie.

Twenty years? Does this mean I can look forward to a Godzilla sequel in 2018?

Wow...you mean you don't remember the Dolph Lundgren He-Man? It was totally craptastic, with Courteney Cox and Robert Duncan McNeill (later of "Star Trek: Voyager" quasi-fame) playing humans who bring He-Man and his friends to Earth through a portal. They of course totally botched it, exchanging Orko for this troll thing, and making some sort of crazy-looking contraption the thing that opens the portals.

It was terrible.

I wouldn't mind seeing them bring it back live-action, if they would develop a good story that still fit the context of the original cartoon.

They're also, uh, "reportedly" developing a CGI Thundercats, which I'll gleefully go see only to have my hopes and dreams (and the loving memories of childhood) quashed into some odd gray pasty substance.

Also, GI Joe is actually on the verge of going before the camera.

The He-Man movie starring Dolph Ludgren is shown every afternoon in the fourth circle of Hell - might be the fifth though, I'm not really sure. I haven't been there in awhile.

That's the one. I tried to link it above, but if it's not HTML, I'm hopeless.

Fourth or fifth circle--where is the movie in relation to Wal-Mart? That'll let you know which circle. (Wal-Mart is in the seventh, I believe.)

Oh, yeah...that's the 4:00 showing in the 5th circle. Wait. Or is it the 5:00 showing in the 4th circle? Now you've got me all confused too.

Oh yeah...that's right. the 5th circle has the 6:00 replay. So really you could have seen it in either circle.

Either way, the movie sucks a large one. I bet Courteney Cox looks back on that as the best move of her career. Then again, it was just a year or two after her immortal appearance as "The girl Bruce pulls onstage" during the Springsteen video "Dancing in the Dark."

Jenny likes Battle Cat! Just think of the treats he would leave you by his litterbox!

I believe John Woo was in line for this at some point, though I can't say if he still is or not.

They should build a multi-picture arc involving the Horde and Hordak for this, then they can do a She-Ra movie as well.

Don't worry. It's coming. Right after the Apache Chief solo movie. :)

What about Snarf?

...which goes in production after the Aqua-Man solo movie wraps.

And yes, I adore Battle Cat -- but not as much as I love cringer.

I liked him a lot, too, but his belly is not very furry.

I just want to tussle Snarf's yellow hair. He's cuddly. But Jenny, how do you pick Cringer over Battle Cat? Really they're the same beast, only Battle Cat is the shock-collar version of Cringer (literally, since He-Man shoots him with his sword), where he grows a set and decides to stand up for his master.

If anyone wants to borrow my copy of He-man The Movie...TOO BAD... YOU CAN'T TOUCH MY BABY!

Have it known that I only date boys who resemble Dolph Lundgren.

INFORMED.
