Butler on Wednesday released its 2009-10 basketball schedule, which had been delayed so that the Horizon League could finish negotiations with ESPN for televised games. Butler’s TV games will be announced later.

Marquee nonleague opponents include Northwestern, Minnesota and Ohio State of the Big Ten, plus Xavier, Georgetown and Alabama-Birmingham. Butler could also meet UCLA, Texas A&M, West Virginia or Clemson in November’s 76 Classic at Anaheim, Calif.

Butler returns every player from a 26-6 team that won the Horizon League regular-season title and lost to LSU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
