Sandra Bullock returns to comedy in The Proposal, out Friday. But in November, she'll switch to a real-life sports drama, The Blind Side, now shooting in the Atlanta area with John Lee Hancock (The Rookie) directing.

She's Leigh Anne Tuohy, a Memphis woman who takes in a black student, Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a gifted left tackle.

With the help of Tuohy, husband Sean (Tim McGraw) and a tutor (Kathy Bates), the 6-foot-4, 300-plus-pound teen who once had a 0.6 grade point average did well enough in school to be eligible to play college football.

"I saw the NFL draft for the first time when he was drafted in the first round by the Baltimore Ravens," Bullock says. "He was sobbing. Everyone was sobbing. He said, 'You could have drafted me in the seventh round. Whoever got me, I was honored. I am here to play.' "
