Bristol-Myers Squibb plans 113 job cuts in S. Indiana
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Drugmaker Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. plans to close one of its southern Indiana facilities and cut jobs at another.
The company says in a state filing that the actions will cost 79 people their jobs as it shuts down its Evansville quality control facility and 34 jobs from cutbacks at its site in nearby Mount Vernon.
The New York-based company said that all the job cuts would be made by the end of December.
Mount Vernon City Councilman Steve Fuelling told the Evansville Courier&Press that he was surprised by the news since he thought the company was as solid as a rock.
