Beside my family, two big things that my life revolves around are Music and Sports. Being that most of you have the music and entertainment taken care of, I think I'll stick with the sports. (By the way, as big of a sports town as Indy is, Indy.com should have a sports area??, put me on the payroll baby!)

Anyway... I just saw that one of Indiana's finest has called it quits from the college basketball game. That's right, Robert Montgomery Knight has retired tonight! Thoughts?

Also, two great sports blogs....

Well this sucks. I just hope everything is alright with RMK. IU needs to honor the greatest basketball coach who has stepped foot on this earth soon.

I just heard about it in a news promo during an American Gladiators commercial break. (Don't laugh, I'm working on my laptop and am just not feeling having to get up and get the remote.) Anyway, what's the scoop? Did he flip? It's unexpected, right?

From everything that is out so far ,it seems that he was on his way out at the end of this season. The program will be left in the hands of his son. My source(the internet) said that he might have been tired of coaching and thought now was just as good as a time than the end of the season. Another reason I saw, almost the entire team is coming back next year as well. This gives those players and Pat some regular season time to adjust. It seems Pat was doing most of the recruiting for next year too. They are not in jeopardy of loosing their top recruit. Apparently he committed to Pat first. He would have liked a to have a year or two under Bob, but he knew it was happening eventually.

I think the move is pretty good for Texas Tech as a whole. Bob Knight brought a spark to the program but it is starting to run out. Not long ago he grabbed the mic on his 900th win and basically pleaded for attendance. This gives Pat some real experience and a chance to actually do something with this program. But that is just my take on it?

As for what I would like to see Bob's do next. I think he should come back to Legends Golf Course in Franklin, IN and start his golf instructional program back up. The out takes are straight cash homey.

On a side note: Don't be embarrassed about American Gladiators. Nothing beats watching the Blood, Sweat and Tears that the Eliminator brings out. Classic! A word of advice though, DVR it and start watching it 20 minutes later. This way you can fast forward through all of the corny interviews with the Hulkster and M. Ali's Daughter.

Oh dag! I always loved Bob Knight. He kept it exciting. I also loved Pete Rose (I had a Reds piggy bank growing up), so I'm not sure what that says about my sports taste...

On Knight...I agree, Great coach, unless he's coaching human beings !
