Big Ten Network

I am currently a Comcast subscriber and a big sports fan. So, you can guess my surprise a few months ago when they reserved a channel spot for the Big Ten Network (Channel 255). However, that channel was gone thanks to some wonderful arguments and conflicts of both parties. Comcast does want to add the channel, but on their sports pack. BTN wants the channel on Basic and thus have everybody pay for the channel. IMHO, everybody pays no matter what. However, those payments are not necessarily monetary.

Personally, and this is likely because I already have the Comcast sports pack, I'm perfectly OK with them sticking the channel there.

I mean, if they're not going to carry the NFL Network on basic cable, which carries live NFL games down the stretch run of the season and certainly holds more nationwide interest than the Big Ten, what makes the Big Ten network think they're going to get on basic cable?

On a related note, Comcast can feel free to stick ESPNU on that digital tier anytime now, too.
