Who has the best just quick sandwich in town? I always go to Jimmy Johns because it is always good, anybody know of any other good sub/sandwich shops around town. I got spoiled when I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago with all the good Italian delis around.

Semi-quick, pressed, and delicious sandwiches can be found at Northside News. You'd have to wait a minute or two, but the wait would be more than worth it.

Grilled Tenderloin at the Rock Cola Cafe on Brookville Road. Dig?

I haven't tried it, but people say the sandwiches at Goose The Market are phenomenal. When we put together the dining guide, that was the place the chefs and experts mentioned. (I live near Northside though, and on a personal note can vouch for their Cuban.)

As chain restaurants go - Donatos Big Don sub is a really good, toasted Italian style sub - made fairly fast. I get mine with Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, red onion and banana peppers, it never fails to satisfy!

Without a doubt Jersey Mikes. I always go to the one in Castleton but I know there are others. You won't find a better sub anywhere.

Depends on what kind of sandwich you like, I myself am a Philly Cheese steak connoisseur and hardly anywhere beats Penn Station's cheese steaks, without sitting down at a restaurant.

If I'm just eating a cold sandwich, I'll just make it myself and save 6 bucks. Jared from Subway coulda saved 5 grand and lost 300 pounds if the dumba55 just learned to put meat and cheese on some bread at home.

I have to say The Hot Brown at Shallo's in Greenwood.

It's not really that great, basically just a turkey sandwich with a helluva lotta cheese and bacon on top, but the name just kills me every time.

I love the sandwiches at Paradise Cafe. My favorite is the chicken artichoke panini.

I agree, I just discovered Paradise Cafe and the sandwiches there are pretty darn good. Another place I enjoy is Au Bon Pain. Jimmy John's will always be number one for me though.

I'm putting in another vote for Northside News. I'm a big fan of the Sante Fe New Mexican Turkey Melt, and the Stromboli. Their bread is the perfect mix of soft and crunchy.

The City Market's Café Olivia has lots of great sandwiches. I get the turkey sandwich most often. Oh, and on Friday's they have a delicious mahi-mahi sandwich. I don't live near Northside News, but I have had the pleasure of trying their Cubano.

I second Cafe Olivia. I have ordered more sandwiches there than I'd like to admit and they've never let me down. Jumbo's in the City Market can be pretty good too.

The BALT (bacon avocado lettuce tomato)on french bread at Taste Cafe & Marketplace at College & 52nd. Their frites are great too, as are their salads and desserts.
