As the weather warms up, the local concert season hits full swing. I'd like to take a moment to look back on the best concerts we have all seen. Mine would be AC/DC several years ago at Conseco and Robert Randolph and the Family Band at a Tent Party before the Final Four. Also, feel free to let us know which concerts you would like to see coming up. I would love to see Clapton this time around.

Paul Weller - December 1991 - The Ritz NYC. The not then crowned Modfather was fresh off disbanding The Style Council and long past breaking up The Jam. He was discovering his solo sound and testing out new joints from his first solo album. It was an amazing, soulful, incredible performance. The date for the show was my mom, and I remember being horrified when some British ex-pat offered her a spliff. The nerve of some folk!!

1974 - Ozark Music Festival, MO State Fairgrounds, Sedalia, MO. Three days of hot sun and great tunes in 100 degree heat with 80,000 of my closest friends. We hung out with some Alabama bikers who told us about this kick a** band they saw the month prior in Huntsville that we would really like. Anyway, the stars and bars flag dropped, the lights came on, and Lynyrd Skynyrd (originals) played amazing rock & roll for two hours. It's been downhill ever since.

1976 Ted Nugent and Uriah Heap at Hara Arena in Dayton. I have seen a lot of concerts but this was by far the best rock show I have ever seen. Uriah Heep was the second act and blew everyone away.

Anyone have a great concert experience yet this summer? I have been shutout of the concert scene so far which is increasingly depressing. Each time I go to a show I have such a blast that I resolve to see more concerts. Then I don't and the whole process repeats itself. In other words, what have I missed?

Bjork up north last year and Einsturzende Neubauten back in the late 90's before they decided they'd never tour the USA again. Those two were mind blowing shows.

Stomp at Butler was badass as well, I smelled like butane afterwards. Ziggy Marley did a great show years ago at the Vogue.

I think the best surprise concert ever was Switchblade Symphony in some dive biker bar in Cincinnati, I'd never even heard them before and they were stellar. They opened for Front Line Assembly... who sucked horribly. Ah yes... 90's post-industrial. We can have sampler.
