Best Atmosphere in a Bar/Club

When one is drinking it's important to feel comfortable. Nothing knocks my statue off its pedestal like getting halfway to satori only to be waylaid by a Nickelback song blasting from the speakers. Being forced to listen to crappy music is enough to make me deeply unhappy. And then there's the general feel of a place. Does it seem like you belong? Or are you sticking out like an anorexic at a Weight Watchers meeting?

I'm going with the Melody Inn as my favorite. I like things a bit gritty, and the Mel is that. The music is usually not insulting to my ears and the people are generally fun to be around.

Also, despite being an inveterate smoker, I like Radio, Radio. It's all so . . . mod. I feel about ten times cooler than I actually am every time I walk into the place.

What about ya'll?

Couldn't have said it better Drinky, The Mel is a fantastic place.....back in the day it was the Outback Bar and the Alley Cat (not too hip on the cat since they remodeled, just doesn't feel the same), anyone remember the Outback bar or am I showing my age now?

Also the Patio was an awesome club too, very dark and I always felt like if I touched the walls I would have to scrub not wash, but scrub my hands lol.

You hit it spot-on. The Mel is homey in that if-i-have-to-tell-you-to-clean-your-room-one-more-time... sort of way. Owners, musicians, show-goers all are laid back and comfortable.

And, with the exception of the ladies restroom in Radio Radio (which always make me feel ten times drunker, not cooler, than I actually am thanks to the uber chromed out walls) I'd pretty much pick it over almost any other venue in town. Quality shows and a good crowd always seem to materialize there.

The Alley Cat is also right up my, um, narrow space between two buildings.

I haven't been to the women's restroom at Radio, Radio, but I'll be sure to check it out the next time I'm there!

I like spots like Subterra and Club 6. Blu Martini is always a good place to relax and enjoy a few cocktails also. To be honest, it just depends on my mood at the time. Music Mill is excellent providing you attend the right gigs. The Alley Cat is a chill place, and I really enjoy hitting up One Liner's Comedy Club when I need to laugh. Radio Radio? I've never heard of the place. You have piqued my curiosity I will have to check it out. What do you think about Howl at the moon?
