The Louisville Bats rallied for four runs in the eighth inning Thursday night in a 4-2 win over the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field.

The Bats trailed 1-0 heading into the eighth against reliever Jorge Julio.

Ty Taubenheim blanked the Bats on three hits over the first five innings. Jeff Karstens followed with two-hit ball over the next two frames.

Chris Denove opened the eighth with a walk, Luis Bolivar reached safely on a bunt and Michael Griffin’s sacrifice bunt was mishandled for an error by catcher Erik Kratz to load the bases. Daniel Dorn hit a two-run double, Griffin scored on a wild pitch and Juan Francisco added a one-out RBI single to cap the four-run inning.

Indianapolis took a 1-0 lead in the first when Brian Bixler singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on a double by Jose Tabata.

The Tribe closed out the scoring with a run in the bottom of the eighth when Kratz walked, stole second and scored on a single by Robinzon Diaz.
