Looking for a family-friendly Father’s Day event? Bring the whole gang Sunday for a fried chicken picnic and live music at Skillington Farms.

Slow Food Indy will be on site, frying chicken fresh from the farm, which is located at 465 N. County Road 500 E., near Lebanon.

Each family should bring a dish to share for the pitch-in picnic; enter your dish in the Side Dish Throwdown. A panel of local food experts will judge the side dish entries for originality, flavor and use of local ingredients (winners will receive a meat sampler from Skillington Farms, a bacon-of-the-month club membership from Goose the Market or a Green Savings Indy book). Bring your own reusable dinnerware too. Tickets are $14 for Slow Food members; $20 for non-members. Admission is free for children 12 and under. Tickets are required; purchase tickets by July 19 at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/...>
