BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. — Sheriff’s deputies in South Carolina say two people have been arrested in the shooting death of an Indiana trucker earlier this month.

The body of 40-year-old Scott Allen Massom was found in a family member’s yard in McColl on April 5.

The Morning News of Florence reported that Massom’s brother-in-law, Jamie Head, was arrested Thursday and is charged with murder, possession of a gun during a violent crime, petty larceny and armed robbery.

Massom’s wife, Helen Head, was arrested in Valparaiso, on Thursday and charged with accessory after the fact of murder, giving false information to police and obstruction of justice. She’s being returned to South Carolina.

Deputies said Massom had been traveling with his wife from Indiana and stopped in McColl to visit family and friends when he was killed.
