Throughout the Indiana State Fair, veterinarians have performed live neutering surgeries on two pets per day.

Cats and dogs that have been spayed or neutered are now available for adoption at the Humane Society of Indianapolis, 7929 N. Michigan Road.

Veterinarians from the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association donated and performed the surgeries, said Tristan Schmid, Humane Society spokeswoman.

Fair goers can watch surgeries 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday in the Our Land Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St.

The surgeries feature viewing monitors, a moderator and observers can ask questions during the surgery.

All available dogs and cats, including those spayed or neutered at the fair, can be viewed at www.indyhumane.org.
