With no members of the original Rat Pack still living, American Idol brought in Jamie Foxx Tuesday night to mentor its final five contestants in the way of the Great American Songbook.

Foxx brought out the best in some of the singers, encouraging Matt Giraud to lower the key for My Funny Valentine so he could sing it full voice and getting in Danny Gokey's face to get him out of his comfort zone for Come Rain or Come Shine.

KRIS ALLEN: Is he a game-changer?

And Allison Iraheta shed her rocker-chick trappings for Someone to Watch Over Me.

The night featured the most consistently good performances of the season, from Kris Allen's subdued The Way You Look Tonight to Adam Lambert's flashy Feeling Good (from The Roar of the Greasepaint-The Smell of the Crowd).

Who's going home? Hard to say. Maybe Matt.
