In a world where Quentin Tarantino mentors singers and American Idol contestants sing songs from the cinema, America's voters decided they'd had enough of Matt Giraud.

Matt over-reached in his attempt to make Bryan Adams' Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman? sound soulful, and he paid the price.

The judges, however, showed him mercy and invoked their one-time save, meaning Matt will return for Disco Week.

Lil Rounds, who has struggled to find herself lately, made her second trip to the bottom three, while Anoop Desai survived his third consecutive trip to lower-tier purgatory.
