LOS ANGELESAMC is advertising the good news for “Mad Men” — the 1960s Madison Avenue drama will return for a fourth season.

The TV series debuted as a low-rated, critical darling but has seen its audience grow at the start of its third season.

The early renewal lets viewers know the retro saga will continue next year, AMC said Tuesday in announcing its decision.

“Mad Men,” which last year drew fewer than 2 million viewers per episode, attracted an audience of 2.8 million for the Aug. 16 season premiere.

The series has registered an impact beyond its numbers. The reigning best-drama Emmy winner is up for the honor again at the Sept. 20 awards ceremony, and its period fashions have been cited as an influence by designers.
