Ambassadors bring bounce, a little humor to court
The Harlem Ambassadors, a coed team that combines basketball with a touch of comedy, made a stop at Westfield High School Tuesday to take on the Westfield Rock Pride, a collection of principals, teachers, alumni and community members. According to the Ambassadors’ mission statement, they try to be role models for youth by promoting the values of staying in school, staying off drugs and fostering racial harmony.
The Ambassadors’ four-day swing through Indiana included stops at Franklin Central on Sunday, Columbus East on Monday, Westfield on Tuesday and Huntington North on Wednesday.
The team is led by Lade Majic, who serves as team coach, lead show player and vice president of basketball operations. Majic played college ball at the University of Missouri and has performed with the Ambassadors in 49 states and 19 countries.
