AFC playoff hunt
» Pittsburgh (8-3) at New England (7-4): It's the first in what should be a telling four-game stretch for the Steelers, who have a one-game lead over Baltimore in the AFC North. Steelers running back Willie Parker is banged up and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is playing with a sprained shoulder. Matt Cassel, Tom Brady's stand-in with New England, has exceeded 400 passing yards in each of his past two starts. The Patriots crushed the visiting Steelers 34-13 in the regular season last year.
» Denver (6-5) at N.Y. Jets (8-3): The Broncos, blown out at home by Oakland, must make the long trip to New Jersey to face the team that knocked Tennessee from the ranks of the unbeaten. The Jets, coming off road wins at New England and Tennessee, are the AFC's hottest team. While the up-and-down Broncos enjoy a two-game lead in the lousy AFC West, the Jets can't afford a slip-up with the Patriots one game behind. Jets quarterback Brett Favre has completed 77.4 percent of his passes in the past three games.
» Tennessee (11-1): Cleveland (4-7), at Houston (4-7), Pittsburgh (8-3).
