Joy’s House, a nonprofit adult day-care service in Broad Ripple, has kicked off a campaign to let donors have a say in how the program expands, and it hopes to add about 9,000 square feet with a $2 million expansion and renovation.

The house’s addition will need furnishings, and Joy’s House plans to make the giving personal by letting donors use a service similar to a wedding or baby registry. Through www.spreadingjoy.org, donors can choose what they want to donate, from a $5 computer cord to a $5,566 sectional couch.

“It’s a huge connection for us with the community,” said Tina McIntosh, founder and president. “Donors give more and more often when they can see what they give.”
