A Colts edition of Hoosier History Live! With Nelson Price tomorrow, 11:30 am on 88.7
Former Carmel High School, Purdue University and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Mark Herrman will be in studio to talk about the Colts, their history in Indianapolis and their exodus from Baltimore, and the Hoosier/RCA Dome and its legacy in the city.
Here's a bit from the press release:
Mark Herrmann (legendary first in these parts as an outstanding Carmel High School and Purdue University quarterback) switched cities along with the rest of the team in 1984 when our brand new Hoosier Dome opened, and when the Colts headed out of Baltimore in the middle of the night. What did it mean for Indy to become an NFL town? What was it like to play before apathetic crowds during some of the lackluster early seasons? And will there be anything to miss about the Hoosier-turn-RCA Dome? Nelson will pose those questions to Mark, who had two tours of duty (separated by several years) with the Colts. We also want listeners to share their early memories of the Colts, their thoughts about Baltimore fans (will they ever give up the grudge?), and their memories, good, bad or indifferent, about the domed stadium that is about to become dust. The call-in number is 317-788-3314 for the curious or the opinionated.
SUPER BOWL, colts, Indianapolis, Hoosiers, history, Nelson Price
