What is the most meticulously researched comedy sketch in the history of televison? I nominate the legendary SNL Blue Oyster Cult "More Cowbell" sketch. The writers really did their homework on that one.

How so? I think most of it was made up. Someone noticed the cowbell in it and went with it. I love it though.
