Hit City's/D'Vine's weekly Wednesday "Troubadour" songwriters series continues tonight with pianist, guitarist, fiddler, accordionist and general musical saw-ist Brigid Kaelin from Louisville, KY.
Gracious host Tim Brickley has this to say about her: "A warm, lovely and funny human being who - when she posts -writes one of the few "blogs" (still hate that word) that I really look forward to reading."
Apparently, she just sat in w/ Elvis Costello at the Ryman, and tours often w/ fellow Louisvillian Peter Searcy and, currently, Days Of The New.
It will be a lovely night. So, drop in at D'Vine a Wine Bar on 86th for half-priced bottles..Oh, and try and get the balcony seat (it's the best!)...
I saw her when she sat in with Elvis at The Louisville Palace a couple of months ago...her blog about that event was very moving too...I could just feel her excitement...and she plays a "mean' saw too...
Well, if you missed cool Brigid, there are plenty more Songwriter nights coming up at D'Vine ~ I hear tell the intrepid leader of The Dead Beat Club, a great band from across The Pond, is heading there in November. ...And a couple of fellows from Michigan who call themselves Rosetta Pebble (they record at Hit City, the host's studio in SoBro) are expected to drop by before summer ends...It happens every Wednesday 'round 'bout nine-thirty-ish!
