Independent publisher and distributor Microcosm Publishing is a collective that was born in Portland Oregon. Last year, they branched out to the Midwest by moving their mailorder operations to Bloomington. Microcosm distributes ideas through books and zines, stickers, patches, buttons, posters and films. Microcosm began in 1996 as a one-person operation working part time out of their bedroom. One of their goals is "to teach self-empowerment and show hidden history while nurturing people's creative side".
