Uh, there's a rip off artist Weird Al Yankovic review and not a Tom Petty review at The Star. What the hell is going on! Weird Al was funny ONCE back in like 1985, he sucks! Tom Petty was the show of the summer and if you missed it to go to Weird Al you are a major loser.

The rain clouds parted on an amazing show. The crowd energy was amazing with such a blend of young and 'more mature' fans rockin' together and belting out those so-familiar lyrics.

I couldn't agree more...what a beautiful night and a GREAT show. Steve Winwood may be about the best opening act I've ever seen...I think I enjoyed him more than Eric Clapton back in May...Steve Winwood/Eric Clapton together would have really been sweet. I was even out of the parking lot in an hour...Tom petty shows are usually 2 hour waits. The crowd really gets into the show and I think Tom really feeds off that and makes the show that much better...Thanks Tom for staying on the road and not retiring just yet...makes this "Mary Jane" really happy...

Indianagirl's set list post above is pretty accurate. Petty and Winwood have tinkered with their set lists at every show on their tour so far, but not drastically. You can google Tom Petty Set List and see those. Another good place for concert announcements and reviews is www.Pollstar.com .

I agree with the comments above. A very good concert put on by real performers.

The show was great. The venue has some serious problems. Verizon Wireless Amphitheater needs to work on two things: entrance/exit and restroom facilities.

The line to be searched and enter the facility is slow and crowded. The exit at the end of the show is equally slow. The limited pedestrian gateways into Verizon cause a dangerous bottleneck.

The lines for the port-o-lets were appalling. Even before the show started the port-o-lets were filthy. For what you pay to use the VWA facility, guests should get more port-o-lets and more hand-washing stations -- at least equal to how many beverage stalls they have.

LiveNation needs to clean up its act. To see how professionals do it visit the Speedway, Conseco Fieldhouse or Riverbend in Cincinnati.

Addition to the set list...I'm not sure of the name but he said it was off an album from 1982 and he also did "Rebels"(not sure if thats the exact title or not either...a lot of help I am..)

I have to agree with Tanger about the venue .. they just can't handle a capacity crowd. Someone is going to get seriously hurt on that bridge one of these days during a mass exodus. We couldn't believe they drove their "golf cart" right thru the crowd twice while we were on the bridge - expecting our river of humanity to just part for them. Maybe they're done making improvements since the Center will probably be just another subdivision soon!

'Rebels' is from Southern Accents. I really appreciate the fact that Petty played a few extra songs to try & make up for the rainout 2 years ago. He typically has been calling Winwood up to do 2 songs throuhgout this tour(Please Mr. Fantasy & Gimme Some Lovin'?), but I think he wanted to give a bit extra, hence playing until 11:10 as well. Great show through & through. Windwood's set was great, & Petty's set just capped off a wonderful evening all around.
