I went lastnight, This wasnt my first and wont be the last show. My first Tom Petty & The Heartbrakers show was in 1985 and havent stop. They rocked lastnight just as they always have. Just wished I could pick the crowd I'm around during the show.
The show was ROCKING all night. Steve Winwood was awesome too. The weather was the best I've ever seen for a Petty show(no thunder, lightning or 100 degree temps). For the record the show had been sold out for a while, but I've learned from Bruce Springsteen message boards that sometimes a few days before a show they will open up a few more seats(after the see the stage setup,etc)..I started last week checking every day(for just 1 seat..I don't know if you could find 2 together) and on Monday 1 popped up(lower pavillion)...I managed to pull up a seat a couple more times too. I bought my tix back in January when they were first onsale but managed to get tix for a couple of friends without paying scalper prices(although face value was enough..$118 with ticketbastard charges)
never seen Petty live before.. but that show was absolutely amazing! he definately has joined the list of people that are a must see for me every summer!! (along with Buffett and O.A.R)

mvittorio, isn't DMB on your list too?
I do enjoy watching DMB live... but the band isn't on my list of must sees. if i get a chance to see them cool but i won't be upset if i don't see them (like this year i'm not going to get a chance to see them)
Sounded good from my house, which is, I don't know, about 1/2 a mile from Verizon. I could make out most of "American Girl" from my back porch.
Saw him in 93 or 94 can't really remember but I was floored knowing he sold out. Hey Joe, we're hanging at your house for the sold out shows!
