Depending on your age or cool factor, you might remember shows such as "Airwolf," "Manimal," "Automan," and "The Greatest American Hero."
Younger folks might recall "Freaks & Geeks," "Firefly," "Undeclared," or "Action."
Many current TV viewers know all about the demise of "Chappelle's Show," and "Deadwood."
If you could bring back one television show that was cancelled for whatever reason, which one? Why?
There were a couple of shows that I really liked in the day that each only lasted one season that I really enjoyed (I think they were both on in 1989 or 1990). "The Flash" is one, and the "Dark Shadows" remake starring Ben Cross as Barnabas Collins is the other.
I thought both were good shows and had a lot of potential to be great. But alas, neither made it a second season.
Probably for good reason, but I would have liked to see where they both went.
"V" and since I am really, really old the original Battle Star Gallactica.
"Farscape" or "Firefly." Yes, the movies (or mini-series, in the case of Farscape) wrapped up the stories and were great tributes to the fans, but each series had so much untapped potential.
How about three utterly amazing (ly crappy) shows, cut down in their prime? "Vanished," "Viva Laughlin" and "Drive." Poor Nathan Fillion. Someday, someday my friend, you too shall be cast in show we appreciate.

Firefly is still on !Its broadcasted on Universal HD...(HDTV Channel) Direct TV and cable
Oh, how I miss "V"...I remember when it even looked cool. Now it just...doesn't. But it's so quaint now.
"Nowhere Man" starring Bruce Greenwood is my all-time favorite "show that didn't make it". I also liked the quirky "Wonderfalls".
I loved "My So Called Life". I think that was around about 14-15 yrs ago. Claire Danes with bright red hair struggling through high school. Great show!

MAN, I love love LOVE that Dark Shadows show- I have it!!! My mom and I used to watch it every Friday, then the Gulf War started. Man, what a cliffhanger!!! I think Johnny Depp is doing a Dark Shadows movie in a few years.
And ironically, I just loaned out my copy of V. The mini was the best with the alien-hybrid baby! I don't know how that ever scared me.
"Freaks and Geeks." That was a great show.
I loved "The Greatest American Hero." I had a sad crush on William Katt at the tender age of six. (I was six, not Billy Boy.)
I was also in love with Greg Evigan as truck driver B.J. McKay. He had a pet chimp named, Bear and was surrouded by trucker bimbos in hot pants.
"My So Called Life" just came out on DVD this week...
I'm with Kate...I invested time and loyalty into watching "Drive" only to have it canceled. I thought it had potential, but I guess the network gurus disagreed. Dark Shadows? Absolutely. But not the remake. The original episodes are a hoot to watch.
I want Invasion to return. After one season it was cancelled. And the season ended without clearing up the cliffhanger. I need my questions answered!!!
I also liked Undeclared. I thought it was funny.
These days, old TV is being resurrected right and left anyway, so it may be just a matter of time before some shows are brought back. The new Battlestar Galactica is just about the most brilliant thing on TV right now. Lightning hasn't quite struck twice there, though, since the new Bionic Woman is mostly just OK. There's a new Knight Rider in the works. Really, everything old is new again.
I also remember that 1990 Flash TV show. I thought it was cool at the time, but I was 12 years old. I know it's on DVD now in case I ever get curious enough to find out if it was any good.
Far more common is the show that overstays its welcome long after it jumps the shark . . . But maybe that's a topic for another thread.
A show that was cancelled too soon - Twin Peaks. Definitely before it's time and as unique as any program can be.

Indyman: While I agree that "Twin Peaks" was unique, and that it didn't have a chance to resolve some major plot issues, I, for one thought it was time for it to end. It was becoming too ragged and weird for weirdness sake. I mean, did we really need a season-ending talent show to showcase cast members' dancing and vocal skills? What was that all about. What I would like to see is perhaps a "Twin Peaks, 20 Years Later" movie.
I liked the first couple of seasons of "Northern Exposure." Interesting, quirky characters.
Leave it to beaver and That 70's Show
I have two shows that I think should be brought back. Firefly and Studio 60. Both of those shows had some great writing and excellent casts.
"Sports Night" ... dear lord, I miss that show. It's Sorkin at his funniest and least preachy with a fantastic cast.
