I want to formally send out my prayers to all of those who have been affected by these severe storms in the last 3/7 days. I've talked to several people from my family's church who live in Franklin that have lost everything... Does anyone happen to know of a place where you can donate items (i.e. clothing, food, books, etc) to those who've lost so much today?
My cousin and her husbands apartment in Terre Haute flooded and it took both of their cars. I am so glad they are safe but feel terrible for the trouble they will now have trying to rebuild their lives..
My prayers are with those in need tonight.
I'm going to my cousin's house off of 37 and Smith Valley. They too have lost so much. I feel like I'm back in Biloxi, Mississippi helping pick up after Katrina...it's surreal. But we'll be grilling out during the process which seems odd but that's how my family is! I think we should look at it from both sides of the coin. Downside...you lost a lot, upside...you're alive (which is irreplaceable) and have people willing to do anything to help you...and hopefully an insurance check that will replace all the material things one did lose.
