It's pretty early in the millennium to say "match up of the century" but this election is proving to be a turning point in history. I am not saying 'turning point' for the sake of buzz words, it really IS one.

Your thoughts central Indiana?

I believe this election will be historic for the following reasons:

  1. The first African-American will win the Presidency of the United States of America - the first Western nation to do so.

  2. Barack Obama will sweep 48 states, like Ronald Reagan did in his reelection.

  3. Indiana will go to Obama, the first time for a Democrat to win the presidential election in Indiana in over 40 years.

  4. This will all happen with a new kind of politics in the winner's campaign - clean, respectful, with no lobbyist or special interest money (bribes). That's the purpose of my blog at http://www.whatwouldobamado.info.

Yes We Can!

I think you're in for a rude awakening chucklasker. Not everyone likes Obama as much as you. Sweep all 48 states? You mean 50? But it's not going to happen either way. He won't win Indiana either. I'm glad you think Obama is perfect and clean but he's not, he's just another politician. Stuff will come out about him. By the way, Obama is as much white as he is black.

How is he gonna sweep the nation when he didn't even win the Indiana primary...because all the Republicans were voting for Hilary....I think that proves Republicans still hold weight in Indiana.

I would literally bet my life that McCain wins Indiana. As for the nation, I think it'll be close. Everyone I know tends to think that Obama is a shoe-in. I would chalk that up to the fact that the media coverage has been all about the Democrats for the last few months, since the Republicans wrapped up their schpiel earlier. In short, it could go either way. That's my bold prediction.

" Obama is as much white as he is black." ummm...thats not how it works there, Randy. lets not get into racial entitlement and racial devides, or, forget that.... your statement is EXACTLY what i want to hear from people. for some reason, some WEIRD 20th CENTURY reason, i thought a candidate would be judged on policy and planning, not on skin color or race.

a lot of people do, it seems.

I said that because chuck said he'll be the first african american to win the presidency. I was saying you can't really say that since he is half white. Trust me I'm judging the socialist piece of s--- on his policies, not his race.

Hey, Randy. I didn't say ALL 48 states. I am willing to give McCain 2 of them. I didn't say Obama was perfect, either. Any other words you want to put into my mouth that you can then argue against?

You talk about a rude awakening. With your rude comments, I'm guessing you'll be the one doing it? You are a perfect Republican. I'm amazed you left out a Rev. Wright comment... And socialist? Bush/McCain oversaw the largest entitlement program, the highest spending, and the most totalitarian policies of any president in history.

Don't worry, though, randy - I know we're in a state where many people have drunk the Republican koolaid, who see the state of this country after the last 8 years but still want to continue the policies that got us here, such as yourself. But there are also Hoosiers who are thoughtful, who can see the desire for change, and that McCain, with a 95% pro-Bush voting record, is NOT change.

Rude? I disagree with you so I'm rude? OK hippie go be one of obama's sheep.

The only person mentioned in this thread that was actually a Socialist is Albert Einstein. I love how we discuss politics in this country. Anyone to the left of us is a socialist/communist. Anyone to the right of us is a fascist/religious nutbag.
