Were any of you in to Brit Pop back in the day(meaning the mid 90's)? Back when Oasis and Blur were battling for the number one record, and the NME would have a field day covering the story? I've been listening to tons of Pulp lately, primarily Sorted for E's and Wizz, mostly because it's festival season and I'm feeling nostalgic. Not a week goes by that I don't throw on a record by Suede,Gene, Elastica, or even the occasional Menswear.

pulp, of course! but go back a bit more to the fantastic band Ride. fantastic midtempo knee-gazing (sad but not so bleak and introverted) with great guitar hooks and the best drums post Stone Roses hype time. i recommend the album Nowhere and especially the song Vapour Trail. classic. Elastica was just wire, only not as good.

I don't know much about Ride but I love Stone Roses. True Elastica stole every from Wire, but they were still so darn good. Car Song rules it! I wonder what Elastica is doing now?

I'm a big Blur fan. For that matter, I love anything Damon Albarn has his nose in (Gorillaz, The Good, the Bad and the Queen). I also like Pulp. Oasis were/are ok, and I don't mind listening to them, but they never really grabbed me.
