I rented the film "I'm Not There" the other night off of PPV, the preview looked really good, and I thought that the soundtrack would at least be good.

I didn't understand anything about this film. Was it a biopic about Bob Dylan, or was it a bunch of little films about some of his songs?

Whatever it was, it was not worth it. I wish I hadn't been there watching this crap.

I don't know a lot about him or his songs, but the film was supposed to be a portrait of him through his songs, characters in songs, and bits of his life. It was a bit of experimentation in film, and I think the end result was fitting given his mystique and everything. I wasn't a huge fan of the movie myself, either, though.

I did think Cate Blanchett was amazing as she always seems to be, though, and I thought the Billy the Kid/Pat Garrett sequence was cool, even though I didn't understand a lick of it.

As a Bob Dylan fan, I thought this movie was crap. The individuals characters were supposed to personify the different sides of Dylan. Because it was so hard to follow, it failed miserably. Definetely not a movie for the average viewer to "learn" about Dylan. You would have to know his life from front to back to truly understand each character.

The highlight of the movie was Kate Blanchett. Her portrayal of Dylan was stellar. Heathe Ledger was dissappointing. Not for his acting, but for the Dylan "movie star" character he played. Thats actually what I didn't like about this movie...Dylan was never a movie star.

I rarely turn a movie off before it's over. I did for this one. Horrible.

Nice try.
