All of my adult life, I've had friends who've come back from shopping at Goodwill with the coolest things ever. They would say stuff like, "Hey, Drinky, look at this! It's a first edition of On The Road! And it's signed by O.J. Simpson!" or "Check this out! It's a one of Christ's sandals! He was only a size 8!" But whenever I'd go to Goodwill, all I'd ever find were ceramic Santas and heartbreak. Well, finally all that changed. I went last Friday and found this awesome zip-up jacket that has "Cuba" printed across the front. It looks like something an Olympic athlete would wear. Or me, I guess, because I'm totally wearing it. Viva Me!

So, what's the best thing you've ever found in Goodwill?

Best thing I ever found was a SONY 5 cd home stereo unit, this was only the cd player which was fine for me, the price tag said $50 or something, I walked up there with it and asked if this was guanranteed to play the guy said no, but if it doesn't work to just bring it back with the receipt for a full refeund.

Here's the beauty part, he rang it up and it only came to $25, I even questioned him and he said that's how it's coming up, so go ahead.

That sucker worked for well over 2 years before my dogs attacked my cat (killed him even) then destroyed the wiring to my whole stero unit....sigh, I bet it would still work if not for that, but that's the best thing I ever found.

I've found some dope records at Goodwill...last weekend was a Chi-Lites 'A Lonely Man' original release album (1972), in almost mint condition...I also snagged a Billy Ocean LP because 'Caribbean Queen' is just too great to pass up.

I found a $100 DLO TransPOD FM Transmitter for $12 awhile back and it's still working perfectly.

But my favorite purchase is an American Tourister suitcase that didn't have a price tag on it, so the cashier shrugged and rang it up for $10. When I got home I opened it up, and there was another inside it. And another inside that. And another inside that. And a carry-on bag inside that. I inadvertently got a 5 piece luggage set for $10!

I also run across some pretty cool vintage cameras every once in awhile.

I saw a Vicki Lawrence album on Friday, "Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia". Also a Jimmy Swaggart album. I resisted the temptation on both counts, but it wasn't easy.
