I can't tell if you're specifically looking for stimulants...or just ANYTHING that makes us feel good/alert/etc. So I'll answer both.

I definitely enjoy a GOOD cup of coffee in the morning. I finally had to buy my own coffee maker because I couldn't stand the Folgers freeze-dried cr@p they brew at work. I'm a big fan of single-origin coffees...especially Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

I also recently discovered a tea called Yerba Mate that REALLY zones me in if I need to concentrate during a meeting or something. It makes me super productive, but it also gives me the shakes, so I don't drink it that often.

As far as energy drinks, I'm partial to Rockstar. It helps me focus without making me shake or feel nervous.

As for non-stimulants, I feel most on top of my game if I get up and work out before going to work, or if I make the 6 mile trek from Broad Ripple to Downtown on my bike. If I do one of these, I'm more alert all day and never get the afternoon lethargy I get on a regular workday.

ive found that a mid afternoon offering of veggies really helps stamina and the next days output. anyone else agree?

The occasional cup of coffee is a necessity, but I've found that the most important factor for my focus and overall energy level is sleep. If I can stick to a normal routine and actually get enough sleep, then I feel great. Not probably what you're looking for, but honest.
