This begins with me admitting that I like Duran Duran. Now that that's out of the way, I'd take whatever the latest version of their Best Of is. Because, while they created some of the finest pop singles in history, they never really created a solid album.

Tough choice between:
Sam Cooke - Portrait of a Legend 1951-1964 and Rolling Stones - Forty Licks
Forty Licks has some real classics, but Sam Cooke's track never get boring to listen to and aren't over played on the radio.
That reminds me of Otis Redding. So I'm casting a vote for The Very Best Of Otis Redding.

Yeah, Otis Redding covered like 7 Sam Cooke songs in his career. And Sam would perform Try a Little Tenderness live. I love them both.
My choice would likely change depending on what mood I'm in, but right now, I'll put in my vote for Sly And The Family Stone's Greatest Hits.
Peter Gabriel "Hit" is definitely my favorite best of.
What's a CD and where can I download one?
Three way tie--
U2--The Joshua Tree
REM--Out of Time
Madonna--Ray of Light
Honorable mention--
Nirvana--Nevermind
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gold & Platnium
