Teenagers look forward to that day in which they become an adult by default of age. It is the day of liberation. It is the day in which they can choose to move out of their parents house and live by their own rules. No reminders to make your bed, no more "We don't live in a barn, shut the door" type of comments….none, nothing, nada, zilch! You are liberated! Congratulations!

Or are you?

You see, parents have a great responsibility. Scripturally speaking, they are told to raise a child up properly within the Word of God so that when they are older, the child will not depart from it. Sometimes parents fail though. They become consumed in their own life and slack in their duties of raising a child. Other times though, it is YOUR own fault. You chose to be rebellious to your parents, your spiritual leaders and most importantly God. Your day of liberation has more of a negative twist to it. Your desire to get away from your parents is very strong. You have issues with being confined by authority.

It is that person who though liberated from their parents and will become an adult by default of age, will ultimatelly in the end, never truly be liberated. Yes, they will make their own decisions. Yes, they will disregard the advice of those around them. Yes, they will even decide to make their bed or not….but liberated, No.

It is this type of person who is bound. They are bound in their own hatred. They are bound in their own chains of rebellion. They are tied down by disrespect and even bitterness.

They are not liberated but bound by a life of sin.

So the question is this…..

Will you be liberated on liberation day? Or have you chose to drag those chains from one location to the next?
