We have been moving this week and have been experiencing everything wonderful and annoying that goes along with it. We spent yesterday picking out paint colors, painting, and cleaning up our massive new yard. By far the best part of the evening though was when I stepped in to our dark, unfamiliar new garage to turn on the light and stepped on the end of the rake. The rake came flying up and the very solid, wooden handle nailed me right in the chin. I reacted like anyone would, by cursing profusely. It only took me a moment though to realize the comedy in the situation. It was like slipping on a banana peel or something just as silly. Does anyone else have any cartoon moments?
Did the rake stick to your face when it hit you?
One time, no joke, I walked right off a cliff without noticing it. It was only when I realized I wasn't on solid ground that I actually fell.
Okay, that was a joke.
But when I was a teenager I was an avid baseball card collector. I had this big 5,000-count box that I kept (some of) my cards in, and I had been in the middle of organizing them-by brand, year, and numerically. I had about 3/4 of the box done and was going to finish them off, but I decided to bring them downstairs and finish them in front of the TV. I was wearing socks, and my mom and just dusted our hardwood stairs. I was at the second step from the top and both of my feet slipped right out from under me. The box hit the stairs first and the cards sort of exploded out, and I bodysurfed a wave of baseball cards down the stairs. It hurt, but I was more upset that those months of work had gone down the tubes.
That's harsh, Joe!! All of that organization gone!
