Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. has partnered with the City of Indianapolis to form the Event Recycling Team. Over 100 volunteers comprise the team, which sets up recycling collection bins before events such as Penrod arts fair, Indy Jazz Fest, Orchard in Bloom, Irish Fest, Brickyard 400 and the Indy 500---basically all the happenings that pack in the crowds in the city throughout the year. Volunteers hope to influence and inspire others to adopt the Green habit of recycling by setting a living example of how it makes the city and the world a better place to inhabit. And I'm sure the organizers and sponsors of all these events appreciate the help when it comes to reducing the clean up aftermath. So here's something to do: volunteer.
