One of my favorite parts of summer is open-air farmers' markets. With the last few weekends being so temperate and late-spring-like, I've been counting the days until this Saturday when the Broad Ripple Farmers' Market opens.
Unfortunately, my favorite market - the Thursday evening one right across from where I work at 38th & Meridian - doesn't open for several weeks.
This early in the season, you can usually pick up plant starts, as well as the veggies, dairy products, bread and miscellaneous foods available the rest of the season. It'll be a while until the tomatoes come, but anticipation is part of the joy, right?
