Today marks the mid-point of the 2008 Indianapolis International Film Festival. Just wanted to check in with all you cinephiles to see how yours is going.
What's the best flick you've seen at IIFF? Worst? Sexiest? Scariest?
I saw "Young@ Heart" last night and was surprised that I enjoyed it. I thought for sure I was much too cynical for such life-affirming stuff.
I've heard the buzz on "Trying to Get Good: The Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon" has been tremendous. Unfortunately, the last showing was Sunday, so I missed it.
Don't forget, Hoosier actor Dan Butler will be presenting his film, "Karl Rove, I Love You" in person on Tuesday. Look in tomorrow's star for an interview.
From a festival perspective, it's going great!
So far, we're on another record pace.
Don't forget that GUNNIN' FOR THAT #1 SPOT plays tonight as well - one day after it's World Premiere in New York.
Love that pic of you and Ebert, Brian!
I believe a few Indiana basketball players are featured in "Gunnin'".
Karl Rove, I Love You (written by & starring the pride of Ft. Wayne, Dan Butler) was hilarious.
Turn The River (starring Famke Janssen with debut writer-director Chris Eigeman) was a phenomenal drama.
I hope to see both of those films come back to Keystone for an extended run.
Chronic Town was an excellent dark slice of life.
This Beautiful City was an absolute train wreck of a movie.
Kudos to the folks at Keystone & to the IIFF volunteers for doing such a wonderful job. As an added bonus, it was so great to have movie stars like Butler, Janssen & Eigeman here for Q&A sessions.
