just kidding. they hate Indiana. this is my one goal over the course of the next year. i will bring the Mars Volta to Indianapolis! maybe they can play dance night at The Vogue!
stay tuned for further posts. watch as my excitement turns into bitterness and disdain to the point of me cursing one of the few bands I still love.
in the meantime, go to La Jolla in Broad Ripple and sit on the patio and drink beer and eat chips and salsa. it's actually pretty enjoyable.
Good luck. It's been about 5 years since they've played here and they seemed pretty unimpressed, probably because they played at the Pepsi Coliseum. Where would they play? Conseco sucks for music. Lucas Oil! Nope. This is why Indy doesn't get these kind of shows. Big venues are too big, small venue's are too small.

if you build it, they will come.

How many times have music fans had this conversation? The venue issue - that is, that we have only mega-size and dinky-doo size venues - is really one of our city's major downfalls.
The Murat is neither too large or small...perfect place to play.
