My mom lives really close to the Southport Road Target-Meijer-Home Depot area, and I can't imagine a worse design for a shopping area. The Target/Home Depot lot has only one major entrance, with two additional points of entry and exit on the same street. It may be the worst commerce lot plan ever created.
As the city expands, one would think that the powers that be would be trying to avoid the mess that is the Castleton to Keystone at the Crossing corridor.
Are there other areas that drive you completely crazy? Those two are at the top of my list.
96th and Keystone, and 82nd and Allisonville Rd are the two worst I can think of. You can sit at those lights for about 10 minutes during rush hour.
There is a bad one by my work...71st and Woodland Dr. on the Northwest side. There isn't a lane that goes straight to 465 North, so everyone gets screwed, and there are like 9 big business buildings, a school, interstate access, a McDonald's and Gas station in that area. It takes me about 8-10 minutes just to get from my work parking lot to the interstate some days.
