I went to a preview of Tina Fey's newest film, "Baby Mama" last night. Overall it was an enjoyable film, fairly predictable and a too easily wrapped up ending, which I had expected in the first place. There were some laugh out loud moments (love the bit about spraying Pam instead of using olive oil), and the audience really seemed to enjoy it. However, there were definitely some moments that fall a little flat. The movie ranks an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes at this point, and I would agree with that. I would expect a little more out of these two hilarious SNL women though.

I wondered if you were there! I was just lucky to get in on time. Looking forward to your review.

I was certainly there! If it's a Tuesday screening, I'm almost always there.

You should have walked right by me at the end...per my usual schtick I was standing outside the front doors of the theater waiting for my panelists for the magazine to come out.

I will keep that in mind. It was my first time to that theater (got free tickets through Freeloaderz), and I was just excited because I usually go to the dollar theater on the east side and hardly ever go to a "real" theater. It would have been a great experience even if the movie had been terrible. As a sidenote, Joe, did you ever review the movie Penelope? I was looking for it on here, and couldn't find one.

I did not. I missed that one.

I thought it got a wire review treatment, though, so I'm suprised you couldn't find one on here. It wasn't around long, though.

Did you see it? If so, you could be the perfect person to mention it! :)

Regarding the promo screenings, if you keep a sharp eye out you can get those tickets pretty frequently. I know if you regularly check out the "Events" section of the various radio stations around town, you can find out where they're giving those passes away.

There's actually a group of people who seem to find all of the screenings (they're not public knowledge, but there are ways of finding out where and when they happen). They just seem to be at all of these preview screenings, and they're not press or even friends or family of press. They just happen to find their way to all of them, so if you want to go to more of them you can surely find your way to them.

And be on the lookout for me...you can be one of our panelists and offer your mini review of the movie as well!
