A few months ago a friend loaned me some cd's of assorted This American Life broadcasts. Since then I've spent countless hours listening to the archives. I'm actually excited for it to get cold so that I can shut myself in and listen more. The topics and stories on the show are funny, informative, touching, and always entertaining. It's storytelling for adults (and kids too, but mostly adults), and the subjects are all over the place. One week it will be about war, the next week it will be stories about break ups, and the next will be about an officer who battled a squirrel. One episode in general made me realize just how much I love Phil Collins. The host Ira Glass may just have the friendliest voice and demeanor on public radio. New episodes air on Saturdays in Indianapolis at 9pm on 90.1 fm. You can listen to the archives at thislife.org.
