I have donated in the past. Not recently. My blood type is my outlook on like: B Positive. :-D
Signed up for the new Donor Point where you can schedule your donations and see your history as well as cholesterol info from past donations. www.donorpoint.org
Make it a social event? Meet up after work with friends and talk through the process? Good distraction! What do you think?
The problem with donating blood is that not everyone is allowed to do so especially members of the GLBT community especially gay men. You would this was the result of the AIDS situation in the 80's but this was started in the 70's. If they are doing tests on all the blood then I don't understand why this has to be done to anyone. Since there is a blood shortage at this time - is it worth ignoring members of a community that would be willing to help more than a straight one?

I've wanted to donate blood and have been told I was ineligible to do so due to an unexplained heart condition. If they'd let me, I definitely would.

I would do it more if I didn't get on their phone list when I did it. Once you do it they call you non-stop and its really annoying.
